Edible Volcano Project

Edible Model of the Cross-section of a Volcano

You must create a completely edible model of the cross-section of a volcano.

Label the following parts using toothpicks with small paper labels:
* crater
* vent
* side vent
* lava
* lava flow
* pipe
* magma
* magma chamber.

Label the type of volcano you have created.

Think of a creative name for your volcano, too!


It can be flat OR 3-dimensional, but no bigger than a cookie sheet!


You can add extra parts to your volcano as long as you label them and they make sense.
* You can add a lava bomb, but do not put it on a shield volcano.
* If you do a composite volcano, you may want to show the layers.

You should complete this project to the best of your ability (parent's should only assist in the baking portion of this project). Bring in an eating utensil to receive credit. If you bring it in one day late, it will only be worth half credit. Please understand that your parents should only supervise and not do the project for you.
